A complete ban on New Year celebrations in Pakistan to show solidarity with the Palestinians

In Pakistan a complete ban on New Year celebrations has been declared by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar as a mark of solidarity with the distressed Palestinians.

Caretaker Prime Minister posted a video on Youtube where he addressed the nation and cited that thousands of Palestinian civilians have been murdered by Israel including thousands of children since the 7 October incident.

He stated that the government of Pakistan has imposed a ban on any New Year Celebrations.

Although the intentions that Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has are positive and it is being implemented for showing solidarity with the Palestinians. But it begs the question that is imposing ban on celebrations are a good way to show solidarity or there should be more effort from Pakistan to support Palestinian at this time.

In my opinion if he had only asked for people to refrain from celebrating on new year that would be fine. But you should not force people to celebrate on New Year if they want to.

Also there was no post for this whole month from Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar’s twitter page talking about what Israel is doing but to impose this ban he came out and gave this address. There were no emotions shown in this address and it was only 2 minutes long. It should have been an at least 10 minute analysis and explanation of what is happening in Gaza and there should have been direct condemnation of Israel and also of United States for supporting Israel in the killing of civilians in Gaza.
